China One Call is providing a free telephone interpreting service to anyone needing urgent information or wanting to contact relatives and friends in the aftermath of Monday's earthquake. The company's British directors, currently in China, have responded to the news that the death toll could rise to over 50,000. They want to join the many thousands giving support by providing a language link for those most affected.
Contact details for seeking help are +86 871 805 8503 from outside China and 4006 88 66 99 from a Chinese mobile or landline. Callers should quote "Earthquake Crisis".
Michael Sinclair, Marketing Director says: "I was on a business trip to China visiting my co-director Greg Sinclair, when our own office building was briefly shaken by the earth tremour. After the subsequent reports on TV and radio, Greg and I looked at each other and simultaneously said 'we must offer whatever help we can.'"
China One Call operates a 24/7 interpreter service for both business and leisure travellers. It is making available its 15-strong team to give interpreter support to quake victims and anxious family members as well as providing a link to disaster relief teams whilst the current crisis exists.
