The Internet Marketing Dictionary was released May 10, 2008 as a 230 webpages (and growing), freely accessible website. It's goal is not only to help beginning and failing internet marketers to get their basics in by providing a resource of easily understandable definitions but also to present the most up-to-date dictionary on internet marketing terms anywhere.

With The Internet Marketing Dictionary on http://www.internetmarketing-dictionary.com a new Internet marketing service has launched which will set a standard for understandable and correct definitions of internet marketing terms.

Internet marketing is a highly specialized subject and therefore has developed a specialized terminology. But while in most other subjects a specialized dictionary is considered as an indispensable tool for learning the basic concepts and procedures this doesn't seem to be the case in internet marketing. Consequently many internet marketers are lacking these basics because they do not fully understand the meaning of special terms used to communicate and teach them.

It is no surprise that these are the ones who complain about not making money on-line at all or nowhere near as much as they hoped for. And that the vast majority of Internet marketers falls into this category is an undisputed fact.

Facing this situation and all the universally accepted explanations for it -- which nevertheless do not lead to a resolution of the problem -- and having realized that there was a depressing lack of high quality dictionaries with understandable definitions, Klaus Lehne decided to write a dictionary on Internet marketing terms himself.

The existing dictionaries mostly had one-sentence definitions which left more questions open than they answered, partially gave incorrect definitions and all without exception were very stale dated. Trying to find definitions for newer terms like "Google slap", "virtual real estate" or "micro blogging" was a hopeless venture.

Being used to the area of research and writing as an university PhD where he had acquired the ability to sort correct from incorrect and important from unimportant information plus with his 2 years experience as an Internet marketer, Klaus Lehne started his quest.

Hundreds if not thousands of hours of research and writing later The Internet Marketing Dictionary was released as a $7 ebook in February 2008.

206 definitions of Internet marketing terms on 235 pages, written by an Internet marketer for Internet marketers. Aside from the thorough explanation of every term the definitions included screenshots, examples, tables and whatever else was found necessary to make them as easily understandable as possible.

But while he earned acknowledgment for the quality of the definitions the author already then realized that it would be hard if not impossible for a single person to reach the level of completeness and actuality he had set himself as a standard.

Therefore the idea was borne to convert the ebook into a website, accessible without restrictions and invite readers and visitors to join a community of dictionary co-authors to contribute their knowledge by writing definitions for terms not yet contained in the index. And opposite to other comparable community projects a reward system was created to let co-authors profit from their contribution.

The Internet Marketing Dictionary is released now as a website under http://www.internetmarketing-dictionary.com and it will be interesting to see whether it will become the authority site for Internet marketing definitions the author intends it to be.
