New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) May 21, 2008
M.S. Rau Antiques, LLC, a provider of fine antiques, was recently included in New Orleans CityBusiness' Top 100 private companies. The weekly newspaper provides up to date information on local business in the New Orleans area.
The article, titled, "Top 100 Private Companies: special focus," explains how many private companies are fairing well following Hurricane Katrina. "The top 100 privately held businesses in the New Orleans metro area have banked the boom following the bust of Hurricane Katrina," wrote New Orleans CityBusiness writer Terry O'Connor. "Stability and consolidated gains are now among the top goals of businesses blending recovery work with recharging the economy."
Collectively, the top 100 private companies saw $11.1 billion in 2006 revenues, as compared with $8.9 billion in 2007 -- a gain of nearly 25 percent. Twenty eight companies made at least $10 million more in 2007 revenue than the previous year, compared with 35 companies accomplishing the same in 2006.
The theme for 2007 shows a return to normal business after Hurricane Katrina and an implication that businesses are no longer preoccupied by recovery work or re-establishing work forces and clientele.
