Now there's a cheaper way to access great contemporary art work to brighten up your home or workplace or begin a valuable collection. A no-nonsense Euro 40 offer to buy works from established artists who have created work especially for the Fragments programme.
Fragments, which can be found at http://fragments.galleryica.com, is a unique project to make great contemporary art more affordable. The works are editioned archival prints all signed by the artists.
Why the great prices? Because Haydn Shaughnessy Gallery, Cork, Ireland, which is running the Fragments programme went to the artists involved and asked if they would create a new work especially for sale through the gallery and the gallery-website at a low low price.
"We thought if we ask and we promise to do our best to draw attention to the work it could be something they go for and to date it's proved very popular with them.," says gallery owner Haydn Shaughnessy who also points out that the scheme brings more people to see the artists major works too.
Artists include: Chris Ashley, Susan Kaprov, EJ Carr, Jon Coffelt, Nathaniel Stern, LoVid with Scott Kildall, Claire Keating, Susanne Leutenegger, Clare Greene and many more joining soon.
"They're good if you want to just brighten up your home and better if you want to begin collecting art work," says Shaughnessy.
At $62 for collectible work you can hardly go wrong. The gallery is adding new Fragments every week and expects to have a selection of around 50 before the summer is out.
