Wines from this region of Italy, especially Prosecco, have become increasingly popular with U.S consumers. We are delighted to offer an organic version of this very special sparkling wine.

Natural Merchants, LLC , with headquarters in Rogue River, Ore. and Cartagena, Spain, introduces Pizzolato PROSECCO VENETO IGT ORGANIC to North American distribution. Pizzolato produces the number-one selling organic wines in Italy, and now their very popular sparkling Prosecco is available for distribution throughout the United States.

Under European law, the name "Prosecco" can only be applied to wine that is made from Prosecco grapes grown in the Valdobbiadene, Conegliano and the vineyards in the Veneto regions of Italy. La Cantina Pizzolato estate is located in the rich and flourishing countryside in the north of Treviso, Italy and the vineyards are situated on the plains and hillsides, in the Veneto I.G.T (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) area.

Pizzolato's PROSECCO VENETO is made from USDA National Organic Program Certified Grapes, certified in Italy by BIOS. The grapes are handpicked and vinified using the Italian Charmat method, with temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel and secondary fermentation in sealed tanks for 30 days. The wine is then promptly bottled and released.

"We are very excited to be able to offer the Pizzolato brand to distributors across North America," said Edward Field of Natural Merchants. "Wines from this region of Italy, especially Prosecco, have become increasingly popular with U.S consumers. We are delighted to offer an organic version of this very special sparkling wine."

The wine's color is pale straw-yellow with greenish tinges. The nose has a delicate, fruity, characteristic, and the taste is well-orchestrated, palatable and pleasant. Prosecco is ideal as an aperitif, with a snack, or served with cold first courses including seafood and light pasta dishes. It is a perfect, refreshing summer sparkling beverage. Suggested retail price is $13.99.

The Pizzolato family has been working in the Italian agriculture sector for more than five generations now, living in harmony with nature and the environment. The estate covers an area of 58 hectares and it also collaborates with five other producers which contribute organic grapes grown on area of 48 hectares.

Prosecco Veneto is one wine in the line of several offered by Pizzolato within the Natural Merchant's portfolio. Other Pizzolato wines made with organically-grown grapes include a Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Cabernet, Merlot, three varietals of Spumanti, and both red and white sweet wines.
