WPT has been aggressively pursuing the Wind Power industry for some time
Denver, Colorado and Smithville Ontario (PRWEB) May 21, 2008
Western Pacific Transport LLC (WPT), a Denver CO based transportation services provider, recently announced that it is in the final stages of completing a transaction to purchase 100% of the assets of Centurion Heavy Haul Inc. (CHH), a Smithville ON based transportation services provider.
CHH is a privately owned company providing transportation and logistics services to the heavy manufacturing, Oil and Gas producers and developers, with special emphasis in the Wind Power industry.
WPT is a privately owned company seeking to expand its operations into transportation and logistics for the Energy production sector, with specific emphasis on Wind Power generation.
Frank DeVries, President of CHH, said "that the proposed transaction will poise both companies to become one of the leaders in the rapidly growing field of Wind Power transportation." Typically, each Wind Power Generator requires as many as 7 trucks and custom designed trailers to transport the components from the port or manufacturer to their destination.
Gary White, COO for WPT, stated that "WPT has been aggressively pursuing the Wind Power industry for some time" and added that "the transaction will allow WPT to become one of the top five companies in the North America to provide complete logistics and transportation services to manufacturers and developers of Wind Power components. With recent announcements by Mesa Power and T. Boone Pickens as well as Spanish Utility Company Iberdrola announcing plans to invest Billions into the North American renewables market, the future for transportation in this sector is extremely bright".
