A new weather predictor tool has been launched by knowital.com. Visitors planning a vacation in Italy, but unsure how hot Rome is in August, or how likely it is to rain in Venice in May, need no longer leave things to chance.
Crystal balls don't work, and long-range weather forecasts are notoriously unreliable, but historical patterns CAN be a useful predictor of what the weather will be like. With that in mind, http://www.knowital.com has been collecting weather information from every Italian province for five years now, and has just created the essential tool for anyone planning a visit to Italy.
Visitors can go to http://www.knowital.com/weather/italy/ and select the area of Italy they want. They enterthe first date of their stay and the website will display what weather they can expect, day by day, for each day of their vacation.
So you can see average temperatures, the likelihood of rain, and graphs showing average minimum and maximum temperatures, day by day, month by month. All are tied in to Google Maps so it's easy to find your way around. Staying in Rome but planning a day trip to Florence? Simply jump to a different region and discover just how high factor a sun cream you'll be needing in your backpack. It will also give you a forewarning of what clothes to pack for you and the family - all based on years and years worth of aggregate data.
