Real-Life Example Demonstrates Fuel Savings with Global-Fleet Fuel Card as Prices Continue to Rise

As fuel prices continue to break new records, CSI Global-Fleet Fuel Card uses real-life example to demonstrate 10-15% fuel expense savings.

Bonitea Springs, FL (PRWEB) May 23, 2008 -- As gas prices continue to rise, CSI Global-Fleet offers real savings opportunities of 10-15% or more when using the Global-Fleet Fuel Card. Created for fleets of all sizes, the Global-Fleet Fuel Card uses multiple features to help businesses realize optimal fuel savings in an economy when it's needed most.

"Our fleet card program is one of the most comprehensive available," said Keith Stone, CSI President and CEO. "Besides all of the features offered, what clients want to understand first is how much money, how much cold hard cash, they will save."

is that it directly affects net income. A $14,500 annual savings is more than $20,000 gross revenue because of taxes and fees alone.
To help demonstrate this point, CSI Enterprises uses a very conservative, real-life example of a 15-vehicle fleet business. "It's not just theoretical," Stone said. "We want our clients to understand that using the Global-Fleet Fuel Card puts money back in their pockets."

CSI's example first establishes the baseline specifics. Begin with a 15-vehicle fleet with 15 drivers averaging two 17-gallon fill-ups per week with gas selling at $3.79 per gallon. Also factor in an industry average of 10% slippage (unauthorized usage) and 5% unauthorized premium grade fuel purchases. Finally, each driver has estimated earnings of $18 per hour, takes about 10 minutes each week processing their fuel receipts, and each receipt costs the company around $0.50 to process.

Using the Global-Fleet Fuel Savings Calculator, annual fueling expenses in this example are more than $113,600. The greatest savings comes from the reduction of slippage at more than $10,000. As for those ten minutes a week drivers spend on receipts, eliminating that is an additional $2,340 in savings. Using cardholder services such as low merchant locaters and discounts will save at least a nickel a gallon adding up to more than $1,060 savings each year. Remember to add in savings from eliminating unauthorized premium fuel purchases as well as the fifty cents per receipt cost to the company, and that is more than $1,100. That's a total savings of more than $14,500 annually, or almost 13%.

"The important thing to remember about savings," Stone added, "is that it directly affects net income. A $14,500 annual savings is more than $20,000 gross revenue because of taxes and fees alone."
