CUBA Beverage Company Selects Votigo to Develop Commercial Contest for CUBA'S 100% Natural Herbal Energy Juice

User-generated commercials to be judged by panel of advertising agency executives at Hermosa Shorts Film Festival.

Emeryville, CA (PRWEB) May 28, 2008 -- Votigo, Inc., the leading online social media technology and service provider for user-generated contests and promotions, today announced a new contest for CUBA Beverage Company that is designed to promote the company's latest product, all-natural Herbal Energy Juice. To participate, consumers will create and upload their own Herbal Energy Juice-inspired 30-second commercials to http://cubabev.votigo.com. The top-ten commercials, determined by viewer vote, will be aired at the Hermosa Shorts Film Festival (www.hermosashorts.com) August 7-10, 2008. A panel of creative directors from the nation's top advertising agencies will judge the commercials with the winning commercial likely to air on network television this fall.

"Both CUBA Beverage Company and the Hermosa Short Film Festival strive to honor creativity and independence," said CJ Johnson, chief operations officer and founder of CUBA Beverage Company. "We are incredibly excited to see what consumers and novice filmmakers produce for CUBA's new Herbal Energy Juice and how their ideas may spread via the organic, viral nature of this contest."

Votigo developed the CUBA Beverage Contest on its social media platform to enable consumers and CUBA Beverage Company to connect in an interactive and engaging manner. The contest site was designed to match the look and feel of CUBA Beverage's brand, while integrating details from Hermosa Shorts. The site provides consumers with information on how to make a compelling commercial and shares useful facts about CUBA Beverage products, particularly the 100% Natural Herbal Energy Juice. Consumers also benefit from fraud-free voting, commenting, and viral sharing tools within an entertaining and safe environment.

"CUBA Beverage Company and Hermosa Shorts are shining a spotlight on user-generated content by airing these commercials at such a respected venue. Their endorsement of social media aims to inspire future guerilla filmmakers," said Mike La Rotonda, co-founder and chief executive officer of Votigo. "CUBA Beverage further understands that the viral component of this social media contest has the power to promote Herbal Energy Juice in a way that is ideally suited for its brand - it's fun, creative, natural, and independent."

Commercials will be accepted at http://cubabev.votigo.com until July 24, 2008. Awards will be presented to the winner and first runner-up at the Hermosa Shorts Film Festival on August 10. CUBA Herbal Energy Juice samples are available for use within commercials. See http://cubabev.votigo.com for further details.
