Search Travel Online: Credit Crunchers Opt for Cheap Holidays to Magaluf

Despite rising mortgages, falling house prices and belt-tightening for many, Majorca holiday makers are bucking the credit crunch trend and booking Magaluf holidays by the bucket load. For an idea of the range of cheap holidays to Magaluf on offer, visit http://www.searchtravelonline.co.uk

London, UK (PRWEB) May 29, 2008 - Magaluf, the nightclub capital of Majorca, is expected to attract over half a million visitors this year, in spite of Britain's worsening credit crunch, according to a representative at a major travel company.

Search Travel Online's Product Manager, Daniel Eyre, said cheap holidays to Magaluf are as popular as ever, despite, or perhaps even because of, the impact of the credit crunch on people's holiday budgets.

'At Search Travel Online we are already experiencing high sales for cheap holidays to Magaluf this summer and are expecting the trend to continue', he said.

One of the world's top destinations for cheap holidays, Magaluf is a mecca for Brits looking for hedonistic stag and hen holidays in Majorca and others who just love clubbing, drinking and soaking up the sun.

'More than 500,000 people visited Magaluf last year', said Eyre, 'and many people in the travel industry are predicting numbers to be even greater in 2008, with the majority of Magaluf holiday makers in the 18-30 demographic.

'They come for brilliant nightlife, gorgeous sandy beaches and excellent weather, as well as bargain flights and cheap accommodation. Magaluf has all these in spades, and they're benefits which keep many Spanish holiday resorts buzzing, even during a credit crunch'.

With budgets tight this year for most people in the UK, the call for more expensive, luxury holidays may be on the wane, but factors such as Magaluf's cheap accommodation are reasons for holidays in Majorca's clubbing capital to survive the credit crunch.

Along with Magaluf's cheap accommodation, fierce competition between hundreds of pubs and clubs means plenty of cut-price promotional offers on drinks, meaning that young British holidaymakers can keep costs low when it comes to nightlife, too.

In addition, Majorca holiday makers are aware that Magaluf now hosts some of the top DJs. 'Magaluf will probably never be as much of a clubbing destination as Ibiza, but more and more top DJs now include Magaluf on their summer tours,' said Eyre, 'including big names like Judge Jules, Tim Westwood and DJ Sammy.

'As long as cheap holidays to Magaluf can provide such a range of activities at such competitive prices they will continue to be massively popular with British tourists.'
