For the first time ever, "Iron Chef" meets Kitchen Kettle Village, but with a local and "berry" flavor! The award winning Olde Greenfield Inn chefs will have a friendly "berry cook-off" in the "Berry Kettle Challenge" against the talented Kitchen Kettle's Kling House Restaurant chefs. This audience interactive competition will take place on June 21st from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. "Guest" judges will be picked from the crowd to determine the winning recipes as well as a few lucky volunteers who will help the chefs create their dishes. Following the competition the berry inspired dishes will be sampled by the Festival visitors.
Other events include a Berry Eating Contest (participants wanted); music ranging from Bluegrass to Barbershop Quartets to Ragtime; quilting demonstration; Berry sampling and tasty treats of berry jam, berry smoothies, meatballs with berry glaze, berry whoopie pies, bread, cookies, soup, chicken kabobs, and our original "berry" pretzel; kids table where children of all ages can make patriotic crafts; and an Antique Tractor Parade.
