Bring on the Berries as Local 'Iron Chefs' Visit Kitchen Kettle Village's 13th Annual Berry Jam Festival

Lancaster County Kitchen Kettle Village's 13th Annual Berry Jam Festival on Friday, June 20th (9:00am-5:30pm) and Saturday, June 21st (9:00am-6:00pm). "Iron Chef" meets Kitchen Kettle Village when award winning Olde Greenfield Inn chefs will have a friendly "berry cook-off" in the "Berry Kettle Challenge" against the talented Kitchen Kettle's Kling House Restaurant chefs.

Intercourse, PA (PRWEB) May 29, 2008 -- The Berries are jammin', the toes are tappin', the chefs are cookin' and the visitors are in for some delicious fun at Kitchen Kettle Village's 13th Annual Berry Jam Festival on Friday, June 20th (9:00am-5:30pm) and Saturday, June 21st (9:00am-6:00pm). For the first time ever, "Iron Chef" meets Kitchen Kettle Village, but with a local and "berry" flavor! The award winning Olde Greenfield Inn chefs will have a friendly "berry cook-off" in the "Berry Kettle Challenge" against the talented Kitchen Kettle's Kling House Restaurant chefs. This audience interactive competition will take place on June 21st from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. "Guest" judges will be picked from the crowd to determine the winning recipes as well as a few lucky volunteers who will help the chefs create their dishes. Following the competition the berry inspired dishes will be sampled by the Festival visitors.

Other events include a Berry Eating Contest (participants wanted); music ranging from Bluegrass to Barbershop Quartets to Ragtime; quilting demonstration; Berry sampling and tasty treats of berry jam, berry smoothies, meatballs with berry glaze, berry whoopie pies, bread, cookies, soup, chicken kabobs, and our original "berry" pretzel; kids table where children of all ages can make patriotic crafts; and an Antique Tractor Parade. Guests of all ages are invited and admission and parking is free.
