Meaning, there's no implied meaning. I haven't even drafted an artist statement for this series, at least yet, cause I don't want my interpretation to take you away from what you might otherwise get from it. And I really mean that.

Love is a many splendored thing, as the song goes. And Siona Marie Marques, Artist, wants to discover how far, or how deep, this splendor will go in her upcoming series of six oil paintings which explore the subject quite...deeply. And while other artists like Karl Backman admit that "As soon as you address sex or politics someone's gonna feel offended, or pretend that they are," Siona's intent is not to offend, but to simply explore. "You get from this art what you get from it," the Brooklyn-born Artist states. "Meaning, there's no implied meaning. I haven't even drafted an artist statement for this series, at least yet, cause I don't want my interpretation to take you away from what you might otherwise get from it. And I really mean that."
But there is a reason for the series. It was, after all inspired by the same artist who created a piece called "Inspired by True Love," which depicts the sun and the moon in a liplock. And this reason while presently unstated, comes forth from the work itself, the intangible essence that touches you and moves you to keep staring....and staring.
The series of six oil paintings is currently in the works. "Deep Love is a theme that I'm just beginning to discover," she says. "It hit me by complete accident when I ran into this book called Psychopathia Sexualis last year. It was so old that the pages had to be copied to get it on the net. But still, it had some of the deepest, heaviest and seriously interesting information I had ever read. It explained a whole lot and was the basis for this series. " The Artist can be reached below.
