Planning for this year's DC Design House charity fundraising event began earlier this year. The charity organizers partnered with several leading professionals in the Washington DC area. The DC Design House organization uses the support from local design houses showcasing the talents of 15 of the DC Metro area's top interior designers to benefit Children's National Medical Center. The organizers elicited the services of 15 top designers and several local businesses. The organizers partnered with leading web design firm, Blue Water Media to create the charity's home on the web.

The event is hosted this year in a lovely Georgetown East Village historic home that has been completely renovated. The home was originally a Boy's School in the 1840s. The event proceeds will benefit the Children's National Medical Center. This original historic home, untouched since its last renovation in 1948, has been converted into a fully custom masterpiece. On the inside, the home was rebuilt with today's highest quality appointments and details, while great care was given to retain the original historic façade and appearance on the outside. The result is a fully custom, luxurious transformation of an historic treasure.

Children's National Medical Center is the largest non-governmental provider of pediatric care in the District of Columbia and treats all patients regardless of their families' ability to pay. In fact, each year Children's provides more than $50 million in uncompensated care. As a nonprofit hospital, Children's National relies on the generous support of individuals, corporations, and foundations to meet the health needs of children regionally, nationally, and internationally.

As an official sponsor of the event, Blue Water Media contributed resources and designed the website which will be used to archive past DC design house events as well as future events. The website offers information and resources about the charity organizers, the project itself, the sponsors of the event, and affords visitors the ability to purchase tickets online.
