EducationDynamics, higher education's leading marketing company dedicated to helping institutions find, enroll and retain students, today announced that its CEO, Steve Isaac, will deliver a plenary session at the inaugural National Dialog on Student Retention Conference to be held in Atlanta, Georgia on June 2-3, 2008. Titled, The Lifetime Value of a Student, the session will provide background and an explanation for the metric that is becoming increasingly crucial to mapping out retention initiatives.

The metric focuses on the value of a student relationship over the average length of the student lifecycle, which helps institutions determine how much they should spend to acquire and to retain students. For an institution to identify its metric, Mr. Isaac will help conference attendees identify the following:

  • Key facets used to determine the lifetime value of a student;
  • Variables that impact a student's value; and
  • Practical steps to increase a student's lifetime value.

Mr. Isaac's career includes both business and academe. In addition to the more than 25 years of executive level business leadership in marketing and advertising that he brings to EducationDynamics, Mr. Isaac previously served on the faculty of the Executive MBA program at Virginia Commonwealth University's (VCU) School of Business, and as managing director of The Interactive Marketing Institute's school of mass communications.

Recognizing declining student retention rates as the single most important issue facing higher education professionals, Mr. Isaac is the driving force behind the National Dialog on Student Retention initiative, launched by EducationDynamics in the spring of 2008 to cultivate a deeper understanding of the issues surrounding retention and actionable steps that can be applied to help institutions engage and retain more students.
