This website will be great for the Eastern Shore and I really see it revolutionizing the home search process on and off the Shore

Starting this summer, prospective home buyers will have a fresh, new way to search for newly constructed homes on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Virginia and Delaware. EasternShoreHousing.com, an innovative new website that showcases communities, builders, homes and towns across the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Virginia and Delaware will launch on July 1, 2008 offering a unique and valuable service to individuals searching for a home.

The start-up EasternShoreHousing.com is locally owned and operated by an energetic staff that has created something they believe will change the way people search for homes on the Delmarva Peninsula. EasternShoreHousing.com was created because of the overwhelming number of new housing options on the Eastern Shore and to assist home buyers in locating the dream home that not only matches their wants, needs and desires in a home and community, but also in the surrounding area and town.

The founder of EasternShoreHousing.com, Blake Pierson says, "I'm very particular about where I want to live. For me, finding a place to call home is as much about finding a local culture that fits my lifestyle as it is about finding a house that I like. I love reading or working in coffee shops so I'd search for a home that has nearby coffee shops, so why not give others that same option? Everyone's interests differ so we wanted to empower people to search based on what's important to them and what their lifestyles require so they can truly discover a place to call home."

What sets EasternShoreHousing.com apart from other real estate websites are its highly searchable databases, its local focus, its ESearcH function and its "Discover" section. The ESearcH combines the typical home search functions with innovative additions to the standard search criteria including specific floor plans, nearby sites for recreation and entertainment, points of interest and more. In the "Discover" section, users can learn about the towns on the Eastern Shore including demographics, attractions, things to do, recreation, school and health facility information and more so they can really become familiar with the area they're considering moving to.

As Director of Content, Katie Redmiles developed the "Discover" section. Redmiles says, "We're really trying to brand the Eastern Shore and all it offers, both on and off the Shore. The Shore is such a desirable place to live because there's a ton to offer in terms of activities, places to visit and the overall quality of life here. Plus for people looking for a second home or vacation home, it's just a short commute from several major metropolitan areas."

The website consolidates the numerous newly constructed communities on the Eastern Shore into one place offering users a unique and comprehensive approach to home buying. As Director of Operations, Adam Rones is working directly with builders to bring them online and into the scope of prospective home buyers. Rones says, "We're working with several local and regional builders to really transform the way people search for homes. Whether as a supplement to an existing community dedicated website, or the community's only online presence, we really have something valuable to offer each and every community and builder on the Eastern Shore."

EasternShoreHousing.com has the support of Burbage Communities, a staple in Eastern Shore development for over 23 years. Owned and operated by John (Jack) H. Burbage, Jr. and Todd E. Burbage (Salisbury Alum, 1995), Burbage Communities offer a wide array of housing and community options ranging from Sunset Bay in Chincoteague, VA, a 65-unit waterfront condominium building, to Bay Point Plantation in Berlin, Maryland, a waterfront community with 33 single-family land sites.

"This website will be great for the Eastern Shore and I really see it revolutionizing the home search process on and off the Shore," says Todd Burbage, "and that's why I've committed to include my communities on the site. There's nothing else quite like it out there for both home buyers and builders."
