The findings in this report are the first of its kind, and tell a compelling story to business leaders in this community. We are confident industry CEOs and leaders will be able to apply these strategies to their own firms.
Reston, VA (PRWEB) June 5, 2008
Hinge Incorporated, a strategy and branding firm focused on the professional services marketplace, announced findings from a primary research study of 100 Washington, DC metropolitan area CEOs conducted in the first quarter of 2008.
Research Director and Hinge Strategy Managing Partner Lee Frederiksen, Ph.D. believes the data and analysis will help professional service firms in this region learn from high-growth firm best practices. Hinge selected 100 CEOs from companies with revenues from $1M to $1B, and segmented the companies into the following categories:
- Finance and accounting services
- Architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) businesses
- Information technology
- Management consulting
In addition, government contractors were compared to firms focused on the private sector. The study looked at both high- and low-growth firms, marketing spend and tactics, competitive pressures, strategic growth initiatives, and much more.
The study revealed several counterintuitive findings. For example, the highest-growing firms actually spent a lower percentage of revenues on marketing than their slower-growing peers. The report details what tactics these high-growth firms employ.

"The Washington, DC-metropolitan region is unique with its mix of services companies selling to public and private sectors alike," stated Frederiksen. "The findings in this report are the first of its kind, and tell a compelling story to business leaders in this community. We are confident industry CEOs and leaders will be able to apply these strategies to their own firms."
