Despite their duels with neighboring breakfast joints, Ball Square Café and Breakfast is getting rave reviews in the Boston Globe.

His co-owner is head cook Omar Djebbouri, who used to work at Sound Bites - another source of acrimony."

Djebbouri is also the mastermind behind many popular dishes. He has concocted fluffy omelets with ingredients which include smoked salmon, baby spinach, asparagus and prosciutto. His pancakes are also stuffed with fillings such as cranberries, mango, blackberries, or chocolate-chip coconut. "Omar's home fries" are a popular side and is a blend of mashed potatoes, sour cream and garlic fried on the griddle.
