Café Ena Owners Featured for Expanding Minneapolis Restaurant Business in Recession

Hector Ruiz and Erin Ungerman, a husband and wife team that own Café Ena along with two other restaurants in Minneapolis, were recently featured by the Star Tribune for their ability to open the three restaurants within five years, despite the recession.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) June 8, 2008 -- Husband and wife team Hector Ruiz and Erin Ungerman are defying the recession-set odds by opening three different restaurants in Minneapolis within five years, and their efforts have recently been featured in the Star Tribune, along with how they are capable of keeping their businesses afloat during the recession.

Ruiz and Ungerman own Café Ena and Indio, and were recently able to buy and make over El Meson within the five years.

"Restaurants are like children and babies, or a plant that you need to be constantly taking care of and watering," said Ungerman in the feature. "If you neglect it at all, it'll start to shut down, it'll start to go."

Café Ena and the other restaurants also offer catering from their kitchens, and Ruiz and Ungerman are hoping to expand their businesses through that venue.

About Café Ena:
Inspired by Hector Ruiz and Erin Ungerman's trips through Latin America, Chef Ruiz has masterfully blended distinctive and traditional foods with classic French technique and presentation. The end result is Café Ena: a new, upscale, and delicious cuisine unique to Minneapolis. Ruiz and Ungerman's aspiration is to bring this Latin Fusion to the local neighborhood in a warm, personable, and welcoming atmosphere. They are proud of their creation and have therefore lovingly named the restaurant after their young daughter, Ena.
