Pat Cantwell, a 30-year telecom and directory veteran with financial and M&A experience, has joined global recruiting leader Hawthorne Executive Search as executive director of development and recruiting. Most recently Cantwell has been a marketing, strategy and M&A consultant in the directory, e-commerce, trade association and bio-pharmaceutical segments. A 30-year veteran in the telecom arena, particularly in Bell Atlantic's print and online directories business and its subsequent mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to become Verizon, Pat Cantwell has joined global recruiting leader Hawthorne Executive Search as executive director of development and recruiting.

Cantwell was vice president - Strategy, Planning and Business Development for Bell Atlantic's Directory Group (now Idearc) and was instrumental in the company's $2.3 billion merger with NYNEX and the $4 billion merger with GTE Directories. As vice president - Marketing and Strategic Planning for Bell Atlantic and president of Bell Atlantic Electronic Publishing, he was instrumental in the company's financial growth and expansion. Cantwell also held key management positions with Bell Atlantic Network Services and AT&T.

Most recently Cantwell has been a marketing, strategy and M&A consultant in the directory, e-commerce, trade association and bio-pharmaceutical segments.
