Level 3 "Red Couch" to Highlight Achievements of Nominees and Winners

The Webby Awards announced today that Level 3 Communications will serve as the lead event sponsor of The Webby Awards, which will be held in New York City on June 9-10, 2008.

Hailed as the "Internet's highest honor" by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 550-person judging academy whose members include Vinton Cerf, Arianna Huffington, Matt Groening, and Harvey Weinstein.

The winners of this year's Webby Awards will be saluted alongside a remarkable slate of special achievement honorees, including David Byrne, Stephen Colbert, Lorne Michaels, director Michel Gondry, and artist and producer will.i.am.

The "Red Couch" provides interview opportunities for Webby winners and nominees to discuss the new possibilities they envision over the Internet, including the historical growth in online communications as part of the current presidential election.
