Netelligent today announced that it has spun-off its software business into a new stand-alone company, ActiveObjects Corporation.

Until today, Netelligent's software solutions were marketed and sold under the Netsoft brand, and were part of the Netelligent offering. "In order to position our software in the Unified Communications marketplace, we saw the need to create a formal distinction and prepare for expansion," say's Aaron Stone, President of both ActiveObjects and Netelligent. "Our software business is poised for tremendous growth. Our strategy will be accomplished by selling both direct to companies and through technology partners.", continued Mr. Stone.

ActiveObjects is focused on software to enable companies to achieve Unified Communications. "Most companies have invested significant time and money in the core systems," says Mr. Stone. "These systems include telephony, networking, and business systems. Our solutions are made to extend and connect these disparate systems. The result is infinitely more powerful."

ActiveObjects has two flagship solutions, interAct and aWare.

interAct is a completely unique, one-of-a-kind solution that brings together the telephone, network, email, customer systems, and presence & chat into a single, simple desktop client. Through this powerful, real-time user interface (which is the size of a IM client) users reach out and touch internal and external contacts through the phone, email, or instant messaging. Telephone integration is built via Cisco's Call Manager. Email integration is accomplished via standard api's. Presence and chat leverages Microsoft OCS 2007 or the Cisco Unified Presence Server via an upcoming release. Rick Chapman, VP of Product Development, say's "Prior to interAct, there has been no single bullet for companies to use to attain Unified Communications. There is not one single platform that brings it all together. So, we made the strategic decision to take the best-in-class infrastructure components and unite them."

aWare fills a more traditional niche, contact recording. aWare records voice, video, chat, and also does desktop capture. Recording customer contacts is a requirement in many industries and is a matter of compliance. Desktop Capture enables Contact Centers to train and oversee staff members. "The aWare value proposition is simple", say's Mr. Chapman. "It is made for the Cisco platform, so it works out-of-the-box, it has a bunch of standard features, and it is priced below the competition."
