Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) June 11, 2008
Anti-Doping Sciences Institute, Inc. ("ADSI") and the Agency for Sports Ethics, LLC ("ASE") have joined forces in support of their common goal of creating effective new approaches to combating doping in sports. The relationship provides for ADSI to advise ASE on its overall program design, review and interpret laboratory results of athletes participating in ASE programs, and other consulting services intended to enhance the effectiveness of ASE's anti-doping programs.
Leading the consulting services provided by ADSI is the company's Chief Science Officer, Dr. Don Catlin, Founder and former Director of the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory and now an emeritus professor at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. After 35 years at UCLA, Dr. Catlin retired in order to devote his full attention to developing unique ways to deal with doping and improving methods for detecting the practices involved.
The parties are excited at the prospect of creating an anti-doping solution that focuses on providing teams, sponsors, and leagues an additional level of protection for their sport and athletes. "Philosophically, both ADSI and ASE are on the same page" says Dr. Catlin. "ASE has developed a base, upon which ADSI can add tremendous value, resulting in an effective new program that will be attractive to a wide spectrum of sports."
"After providing anti-doping services for the past year and a half, the time is right to team-up with a company that can provide ASE with the depth of technical resources and know-how to grow the company to the next level. We are delighted that we now have access to the best and brightest in the business," says Dr. Paul Strauss, Chief Operating Officer of ASE. "The reputation of Dr. Catlin and the ADSI team is second to none."
