Guitar Center Gives Free Snare Drums to Pork Pie Fans and Introduces New Gear from the Popular Drum Line
Drummers go hog wild for Pork Pie's new Maple Snares and Little Squealer Drum Shell Pack at Guitar Center.
Westlake Village, CA (PRWEB) June 11, 2008 -- Music gear retailer, Guitar Center announced the recipients of free Pork Pie snares and ushered in new Pork Pie drums this week.
Guitar Center attended the Chicago Custom and Vintage Drum show on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18. Each day Guitar Center hosted a free raffle for a custom curly maple Pork Pie snare drum valued at $750. A guest artist drew the winning name; drum clinician and writer for Modern Drummer Magazine, Billy Ward drew the winning ticket the first day and music marketer and drummer, Bob Rupp drew the ticket on day two.
The winner on day one, Fred Wooten of Greenville, SC, commented, "This drum is a beautiful piece of art. As a custom drum builder myself, this drum is as good as any other drum in my collection, and I have a lot!"
Mitch Ralph of Elgin, IL who won on day two said, "I have been going into Guitar Center for years, staring at the custom Pork Pie snares. I have always wanted one but could never afford one. When they called my name as the winner, I thought I had won a t-shirt. Imagine my shock when they handed me the snare drum. Guitar Center has fulfilled my dream of owning one of these amazing custom snare drums!"
Building on the success of the Pork Pie Maple Snare giveaway, Guitar Center welcomes new Pork Pie products to their drums and percussion selection. The Pork Pie Little Squealer Drum Shell Pack comes with four all-maple drums with black ebony satin finish. Customers can get a bass drum, tom, floor tom, and snare in one pack or can buy them separately. The Maple Snare Drum, for one, comes in 3 sizes and 3 finishes.
