Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) June 12, 2008
Viigo Inc. (http://www.viigo.com), developer of the popular mobile content and services delivery platform for smartphones, announced today that two of Canada's most popular magazines will use Viigo to distribute content to their readers.
Exclaim! Magazine (http://www.exclaim.ca/) and The Walrus (http://www.walrusmagazine.com/) will now offer a free, branded version of the Viigo smartphone software to give readers one-click access to a wealth of information including real-time breaking news, sports, entertainment, weather, stock market performance, traffic alerts, blogs posts and much more.
"Exclaim! and The Walrus represent two very different types of publications. While Exclaim! focuses on entertainment and music, the non-profit The Walrus explores important local issues with a international eye," said Mark Ruddock, CEO of Viigo. "Viigo is helping publishers of all types - across multiple geographies, languages and genres - deliver the world's most compelling content directly to their readers, wherever they are and whenever they wish to access it. We like to call it living life untethered."
Last fall, Viigo partnered with the National Post, one of Canada's National Newspapers (http://www.nationalpost.com) and launched the Post's mobile presence with great success. More recently, Viigo partnered with La Tercera, one of South America's largest media organizations, elevating their partnerships to an international level.
"Viigo gives us an immediate way to expand our readership and have a broader presence with existing readers," said Ian Danzig, president, Exclaim! Media. "By using Viigo we can easily take our existing, daily updated content from exclaim.ca and push it out to current readers and to new readers who want the benefit of reading interviews, reviews and breaking news about their favorite bands or artists anywhere, anytime."
Viigo Inc. develops and markets one of the world's most popular mobile content and services applications for smartphones. With over 5,000 channels and information services, Viigo customers around the world enjoy up to the minute access to news, weather, sports, market performance, entertainment, and blogs in one intuitive, simple, freely downloadable application.
