Balancing out declines in the largest markets--Los Angeles and the Bay Area reported fewer sales compared to the same month last year--there was an increase over May 2007 figures in some mid-sized markets, such as Monterey and Sacramento Counties, as well as in the southernmost parts of the state
San Ramon, CA (PRWEB) June 12, 2008
Some 2,465 small businesses sold in California in May 2008, the strongest selling activity of any month this year, according to BizBen - Businesses for Sale in California (http://www.BizBen.com), the state's leading online marketplace for business buyers and sellers of small and mid-market companies.
"Balancing out declines in the largest markets--Los Angeles and the Bay Area reported fewer sales compared to the same month last year--there was an increase over May 2007 figures in some mid-sized markets, such as Monterey and Sacramento Counties, as well as in the southernmost parts of the state," said Peter Siegel, MBA - BizBen founder and CEO.
He noted that Orange County, for example, saw 288 closed business escrows last month, compared to 245 in the same period last year. He also said that the 301 small business sales chalked up in San Diego for May 2008, nearly doubled the 157 business sales recorded in the same month in 2007.
