Foster City, CA (PRWEB) June 17, 2008
LogiGear, founder of the first US-led software testing center in Vietnam, today announced that it has begun construction on a new LogiGear Vietnam headquarters building. The new 30,000 square foot building will help LogiGear consolidate its Vietnam operations, which are now spread across 3 buildings in Ho Chi Minh City.
LogiGear has an extensive presence in Vietnam, and in 2005 established the first US-led software testing center in the country. Founded in the US in 1994 and headquartered in Foster City, CA, LogiGear's Vietnam operation currently employs approximately 350 people with projections to grow to 500 people by the end of 2008, and nearly 600 people by the time the new facility opens in early 2009.
"Our efforts in Vietnam have been very successful. We continue to take advantage of Vietnam's very low-cost and technically savvy workforce while extensively training them so that we can achieve the optimal synergy between labor costs, technological expertise, and proficiency with software testing methodologies and supporting tools," said LogiGear CEO Hung Q. Nguyen. "This move allows us to achieve additional economies by consolidating facilities, while at the same time giving us space to continue our expansion into the future," continued Nguyen.
LogiGear's Vietnam operations work in synergy with its US-based operations. LogiGear employs a model of US-Based project managers and test leads who interface with LogiGear's customers and LogiGear's Vietnam-based test leads, software testers, and automation engineers. This model allows LogiGear to provide extremely high volumes of software testing and automated software testing services for its customers at very low cost.
"We have extensive experience with providing software testing services to our customer base from our facilities in Vietnam. Our onshore/offshore model allows us to put the right types of expertise in the right place, while helping to foster open two-way communication and insulating customers from some of the cultural challenges that often accompany offshoring," stated Nguyen. "We are very proud of the many amazing results our team has accomplished for our customers," continued Nguyen.
LogiGear has outlined its business approach to developing its operations in Vietnam in the whitepaper The Business Case for Outsourcing Software Testing to Vietnam. The whitepaper outlines Vietnam's advantages of cost, workforce expertise, political stability, government policies, and English language proficiency that lead LogiGear to select Vietnam as an offshore location for its software testing operations.
