Ascert Launches VersaTest Automation Plug-in for Quality Center for Users of Quality Center Software

Ascert announces the launch of the VersaTest Automation Plug-in for Quality Center to the market place at the HP Technology Forum, Las Vegas, NV. The VersaTest Automation Plug-in for Quality Center provides a bridge between VersaTest Automator and HP's Quality Center. It automatically creates central management, visibility, and a repository of tests and test results.

"The VersaTest Automation Plug-in for Quality Center is unique as it is not just a typical plug-in module like many others that exist in the market place. The product achieves a significant level of automation and expands the reach of Quality Center into parts of the enterprise that are otherwise inacessible," said Rob Walker, Managing Partner of Ascert. "The VersaTest Automation Plug-in for Quality Center allows for a Quality Center user to define and execute VersaTest server-level interface tests within Quality Center, validate the pass/fail results automatically, and gather the result files back to Quality Center".

The company's latest addition to the VersaTest suite of testing solutions which include VersaTest Automator, VersaTest Simulator, VersaTest Classic, and VersaTest OEM, builds on the powerful VersaTest engine to enable Quality Center to access the message based testing and automation capabilities of Versatest. "We realize that not all Quality Center user's will wish to learn to use yet another product", says Walker. "So, we designed the plug-in to allow those users to execute VersaTest Automator tests and store test results from within the Quality Center software. Users get the benefit of an expanded knowledge base from a familiar setting, without having to acquire new user skill sets." The VersaTest Automation Plug-in for Quality Center will run on Windows, Solaris and Linux servers, while Quality Center's web client interface requires Microsoft's Internet Explorer. VersaTest, with or without the Quality Center Plug-in, will run on any platform which supports the Java JDK v1.4.2 or higher, and will run natively on HP NonStop Servers.
