TrustDefender Announces Expansion into Europe with appointment of Prof. Dr. Martin Schottenloher as Chairman European Operations.

Leading privately owned Australian multi-award winning security developer to open a subsidiary in Munich, Germany to provide a range of consumer focused enterprise security solutions, including their managed services in Germany, UK and the European region - with the aim to enable financial institutions, government agencies and leading online businesses to regain consumer confidence.

Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) June 17, 2008 -- TrustDefender, a leading provider of On Demand Security Technologies, today announced today that the company has appointed Professor Dr. Martin Schottenloher as Chairman and head of TrustDefender operations for the European market. Professor Schottenloher will be based in Munich, Germany.

Professor Schottenloher brings a wealth of business and academic skills to TrustDefender. He has served as a foundation member of the TrustDefender advisory board since early 2006. His research interests include primarily geometry and geometric applications in theoretical physics, particularly in quantum field theory as well as game theory. This has great relevance for a number of key technologies of TrustDefender including the community-based Trust Database and even social behavior when using a security technology.

"Online crime is a global issue and as such, is no less an issue in Europe as it is in other regions. I believe that TrustDefender's approach will benefit consumers, financial institutions and governments worldwide in the fight against online crime, most specifically as TrustDefender focuses on the security of the end consumer, in contrast to other security solutions on the market. I am very pleased to join such an innovative team and feel that TrustDefender will become a huge success in Europe and worldwide," said Prof. Dr. Schottenloher.

In addition, TrustDefender is ramping up the development of its core technologies across all mobile platforms in order to meet the growing interest in mobile banking. Plans are underway for the execution of an aggressive development plan to ensure that consumers and business can easily and flexibly secure any mobile computing devices not owned by the enterprise. As such, TrustDefender is looking to grow the business into tens of millions of users worldwide in the next three years.

TrustDefender's technologies each week provide thousands of consumers with security health checks on their computers before any online transaction is conducted online and are currently deployed on PCs and servers worldwide. TrustDefender ensures that the computing device is secure before the user enters their ID, passwords, second factor authentication code or commences an online transaction, encapsulating the transaction with a layer of encrypted security that ensures no third party can intercept during the online session.

TrustDefender provides financial institutions, online businesses / merchants and eCommerce websites with the ability to move beyond the IP address and extend the security model outside their organisations to include their customers' computing devices when and wherever a transaction takes place - most importantly for the period of the transaction.

Ted Egan, CEO and Co-founder of TrustDefender noted, "We're seeing a real need in Europe, especially the UK, to enable enterprise organisations to provide greater confidence for consumers to carry out a safe and secure transaction, even when the user has no idea about the security health of their computer of mobile computing platform."

"We believe the time is right to expand as the tougher economic times are extenuating criminal activity and online fraud. In addition, consumers want better protection and are demanding that their banks, online merchants and governments do more to provide stronger online transactional security of their private and confidential details. We note that consumer concerns are not limited by geography, this is in fact a worldwide issue for consumers and online businesses alike."

"As such, we expect demand for and sales of TrustDefender's unique transactional security software to grow tenfold this year. We're focusing on what people want in the tough economic times."

TrustDefender's licensees and distributors include leading Systems Integrators, Financial Institutions and Credit Unions in Australia, as well as consumers worldwide.

"TrustDefender is building a unique position in the emerging software-as-a-service market. The Online Transaction Security Platform offered by TrustDefender enables the company to quickly integrate and support virtually any online business. In turn those online businesses can now better meet the requirements their customers by strongly supporting their customers' security needs," Professor Schottenloher concluded.

Professor Schottenloher first international meeting as part of the TrustDefender Board will be held at the 2008 FSTC (Financial Services Technology Consortium) Annual Conference, which will be held in California, USA from June 17-19, 2008.

About TrustDefender security solutions:
TrustDefender enables consumers to perform a security health check of their consumer's PC or mobile computing device during the click through period to the login page. This security health check can identify any unknown crimeware that may exist on the consumer's machine which has not otherwise been identified by their firewall or antivirus software before the consumer logs into any online website and enters his / her password, security token keys and other ID protocol.

TrustDefender also enables the enterprise to apply specific security policies and rules - set for example by the financial institution or bank - prior to login, thereby ensuring that any online transactions the consumer conducts won't fall prey to an online fraudster or identity thieves… and the consumer has peace of mind that their confidential information is secure before and during the period of their transaction.

TrustDefender employs an enhanced sophisticated 'Rootkit' detection technology and 'Kernel Forensics Engine' that will detect, isolate and secure the customers' computers from highly sophisticated Trojans, viruses and other malicious software during online transactions.

The detailed forensics and intelligence of the TrustDefender system make it the only solution capable of truly 'protecting' consumers and banks, financial institutions, eGovernment and online merchants against the undetectable and harmful crimeware that is constantly appearing to threaten the online environment.
