Tactics Cheating Husbands Use to Hide Their Summer Flings, Exposed by Infidelity Expert

Infidelity expert Ruth Houston exposes the tactics cheating spouses use to camouflage their summer affairs..

(PRWEB) June 19, 2008 -- Summer is cheating season. As part of her annual Summer Infidelity Awareness Campaign, infidelity expert Ruth Houston, alerts the public that infidelity and extramarital affairs flourish during this time of the year. She also warns unsuspecting wives and girlfriends about the tactics cheating men use to hide their summer affairs.

Why Infidelity Spikes During the Summer Months

Houston, a New York infidelity expert who is frequently called on to comment on infidelity issues in the news explains why infidelity increases during the summer months, "Many men who would never even think of cheating on their wives or girlfriends at other times of the year, will initiate a summer fling or short term love affair. In the summertime, they're less likely to get caught."

NOTE: Houston's blog http://infidelitynewsandviews.blogspot.com has a description of the 3 types of men who typically have summer affairs.

Houston continues, "Summer also affords a cheating spouse involved in an ongoing affair, the opportunity to spend a significant block of time with his lover. His unsuspecting wife or girlfriend is usually oblivious to what's going on because of the tactics he uses to avoid getting caught."

5 Tactics Cheating Men Use

Most of the tactics cheating men use to hide their summer flings involve travel of some kind. Below, infidelity expert Ruth Houston, founder of www.InfidelityAdvice.com and author of Is He Cheating on You? - 829 Telltale Signs, exposes five common tactics used by cheaters to camouflage their summer affairs.

Sending the Wife and Kids Away

Some cheating husbands routinely send their wife and kids away for a week or two, or the entire summer -- the shore, the lake, the mountains, a vacation home, a visit to relatives in another state -- any distant location will suffice. Once his family is conveniently tucked way, the summer cheater is free to play.

The Dream Vacation

Other summer cheaters conveniently remove their wife or girlfriend from the scene by treating her to a Caribbean cruise with her girlfriends, a week at a world class spa or a fancy resort he knows she can't resist.

Separate Vacations

The separate vacation scheme is a common ploy summer cheaters use to lay the groundwork for having a summer fling. If the cheater and his wife go their separate ways, he can conduct his summer affair far from the sight of prying eyes.

Counterfeit Conventions and Bogus Business Trips

Cheating men whose jobs require frequent travel can easily invent a trip that doesn't exist. Business travel is the perfect camouflage for a summer affair. A cheating spouse may even tack on a few days to a legitimate business trip so he can indulge in a fling before returning home.

Fictitious Fishing Trips and Other Outdoor Adventures

Cheating husbands or boyfriends often use phony fishing trips or similar activities to hide their summer affairs. Men know that if they claim to be participating in "guys-only" extreme sports or a male-bonding type outdoor adventure, their wives or girlfriends are unlikely to want to tag along. It's the perfect cover for a one or two week vacation with his mistress.

Why Be Concerned About Summer Infidelity

Many women treat summer flings lightly, but Houston warns that underestimating the danger of summer infidelity could prove to be a fatal mistake. "There's no guarantee that his summer affair will fade away or die a natural death when summer ends. Many summer flings go on to become long-term affairs."

Houston, who in addition to researching and writing about infidelity also does personal infidelity consultations, says "Every fall I get double my usual number of requests for infidelity consultations. Most of these requests come from women whose husbands or boyfriends had summer flings and are now reluctant to end these affairs. If only these women had known what preventive measures to take, or how to spot the signs of summer infidelity"

What Women Can Do About Summer Infidelity

"Not every man who travels, sends his family to the shore, or treats his girlfriend to a dream vacation is setting the stage for a summer affair," concedes Houston. "But these are the tactics cheating men commonly use to hide their summer affairs. To avoid being a victim of summer infidelity, women should put a few checks and balances in place. They should also familiarize themselves with the signs of a summer fling. "
