Pet memorial store reaches the 1 year milestone of business, opening a new blog and continuing to provide attentive, understanding service.

We enjoy pets, and that was a good way for us to funnel our energy.

As animal lovers, Stephen and Chris Jones of Creative Pet Urns are familiar with the sorrow felt at the loss of a beloved companion. This understanding led to the creation of their web site, which now celebrates one year of helping pet lovers memorialize their departed friends.

"We selected this particular business because we love animals," says Stephen. "We enjoy pets, and that was a good way for us to funnel our energy."

Stephen and Chris have been very selective when choosing products for Creative Pet Urns, always keeping the wishes of their customers in mind. "We selected three manufacturers and went through all of their products, picking out the ones that we felt were appropriate and which would help somebody display their pet in a respectful way, with dignity," explains Stephen. "We continue to look for new and unique products to put on the site. This is going to be a long-term, ongoing process. We're searching locally for carpenters who may want to manufacture products for the business, just to get a local flavor into it."

Creative Pet Urns is also taking steps to help build a community for support to those who have lost a beloved pet, opening a blog at "Our blog is going to address how to deal with the loss of a pet, how to find the right place to funnel donations to help animals in shelters or animals that have been mistreated through animal cruelty, and other similar topics," says Stephen. "We want to partner with pet charities for abused animals, and fairly soon we're going to have a place in our store where the purchaser can select or request a donation of a portion of the product's cost go to a specific charity."

Overall, the message of Creative Pet Urns has not changed in the last year. "I have always felt that the best job you can do is to make the next person's job easier," says Stephen. "That's what we're trying to do. If somebody has lost a pet and is searching for an urn, they surely loved their animal, and we want to make it an easy transition to display the remains of their pet."

Stephen and Chris encourage their customers to post on their new blog and discuss their own loss, helping to build a support community of pet lovers.
