The SIDEBAR platform provides wireless operators and media companies access to the most precious real estate on mobile phones - the white space on screens while users interact with their personal communications devices.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 18, 2008
digital SIDEBAR, a leading provider in the mobile advertising and content discovery sector, today announced the launch of the SIDEBAR™ platform. SIDEBAR allows for the delivery of targeted content to white space on the screens of users' mobile phones before and after calls and with incoming and outgoing SMS notifications.
SIDEBAR connects wireless operators, advertisers and content developers with mobile consumers. Content includes promotions which link to interactive and multimedia entertainment. SIDEBAR enables targeting of content to users by age, gender, interests, use patterns, day and time; and SIDEBAR's "share" feature allows users to forward content to other mobile consumers, one-to-one and one-to-many.
In a study conducted by noted media metrics research firm, M:Metrics, 20% of respondents went from 'adverse' to 'favorable' in their stated perception of mobile advertising after viewing the SIDEBAR demo. In addition, consumers aged 16-24 and 25-34 responded that they were 59% and 43%, respectively, likely to use SIDEBAR if it were installed on their mobile phones.
"With mobile industry experts estimating at least 4 billion mobile device subscribers by 2012, 1.28 trillion white spaces can be targeted for content delivery every month," commented Stephanie Grossman, CEO of digital SIDEBAR. "The SIDEBAR platform provides wireless operators and media companies access to the most precious real estate on mobile phones - the white space on screens while users interact with their personal communications devices."
digital SIDEBAR has attracted funding from private equity investors and closed its $5 million Series A round in 2007.
