I can not believe I am going to the WSOP!

Chewey Lam, founder of PokerAcrossAmerica.com, has announced that a seat in a $1500.00 No Limit Hold 'Em tournament has been awarded to James Forsythe of California. The drawing for the prize was held Saturday, May 31, 2008 in Aurora, CO at a free poker tournament. Chuck Plante and Jay Mairley of PokerAcrossAmerica.com were on hand to document the event as hundreds of spectators cheered the drawing.

Video of the drawing has been posted on YouTube. The original name drawn was not the recipient of the prize. According to Chewey Lam, "We tried everything we could to reach her, but were unsuccessful. As stated in our sweepstakes rules, the next name drawn will receive the prize." That lucky person was James Forsythe. "I can not believe I am going to the WSOP!" exclaimed Forsythe. The poker information website says it plans to begin another sweepstakes for the 2009 World Series of Poker within the next few weeks.

PokerAcrossAmerica.com has been running its sweepstakes contest since July, 2007. The sweepstakes debuted during the Gaming Life Expo at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Though participants were only allowed one entry per day, they could enter as many times as they liked. The result was several thousand sweepstakes entries over the past year.

PokerAcrossAmerica.com considers itself to be America's number one poker information source. It offers complete listings of both freeroll and buy-in poker tournaments all across the U.S. The site also contains information on poker product and service retailers, online gaming websites, and gaming industry employment.
