Hospital pharmacies to benefit from wider range of automation options.

Swisslog, a leader in providing pharmacy automation and material transport solutions for hospitals, now offers hospitals of any size an inventory management solution that can be tailored to a customer's needs.

Swisslog, through an agreement with Pearson Medical Technologies, can provide hospitals inventory management software, high-speed packaging and high density storage and retrieval capabilities. Through an agreement with Pearson, Swisslog will promote the intelliPACK®2 Automated Unit Dose Packaging System as well as m:Print® Bar Code Labeling Software that allows pharmacies to produce self-adhesive bar code labels for all medications, from oral solids to ampoules, vials, and pre-filled syringes. The intelliPACK®2 Automated Unit Dose Packaging System is an affordable automated solution for pharmacy packaging of bar coded unit dose and multi-dose medications with manual overwrap packaging capacity.

These solutions are complimentary with Swisslog's BoxPicker, an automated high-density storage and retrieval system that is safer, more secure and faster than vertical carousels. A refrigerated option for BoxPicker allows automated storage and picking of temperature-sensitive drugs requiring refrigeration. A combination of BoxPicker, intelliPACK®2 and/or m:Print® can complete an inventory management solution for a hospital of any size.
