Hard2Hire.org has officially begun its mission to match unemployed and underemployed ex-offenders with progressive corporate hiring managers. There are over 71 million people with criminal records in the United States today, and very often those individuals are excluded from consideration for high quality jobs. A criminal record creates an impenetrable barrier to full participation in our economic and social communities. Hard2Hire believes that we will all realize significant gains by moving beyond stereotypes and carefully evaluating candidates on their own merits, even as they are screened to appropriate standards for the corporation.
Hard2Hire.org believes that people committed to positive change should have access to the tools needed to begin those changes and to make them permanent. We partner with ex-offender friendly corporations to match their employment needs with candidates. We also work with other non-profit organizations to supply the necessary training to build solid job and life skills, creating a bridge between dead-end struggle and hope.
America's Hidden Asset
Justice Department statistics show that there are presently 71 million adults in the US living with the effects of a criminal record. Many are highly educated and qualified potential employees, but relatively few are ever considered for typical corporate job openings. As labor markets tighten, Hard2Hire seeks to unlock this hidden asset - the nearly one in four adults presently excluded from consideration. Using advanced technology, Hard2Hire matches job seekers with the specific criteria of corporate hiring managers - not just for job skills, but also to the employer's tolerance. We'll screen against arrests, misdemeanors, or felonies along with charge specifics, time since completion of sentence - and many other dimensions to ensure that we develop the best match possible for the hiring manager.
Hard2Hire works with employers in industries as diverse as retail, aerospace, mining, logistics, and manufacturing. New employers are being added almost daily and our database of qualified employees has skyrocketed, with over 1,000 registrations during our first week of operation.
Hard2Hire is a non-profit (501(c)3 status pending) organization dedicated to helping unemployed and under-employed ex-offenders get better jobs, improve their long-term economic prospects, and as a result, reduce recidivism and strengthen our communities.
