David Noyes Wines releases limited production Tocai Friulano. Made from famed Pagani Vineyard grapes, this aromatic white is ideally suited for today's Millennial consumer. Retail price $20/bottle.

With both flavor and history, this wine satisfies both the sensual and intellectual appetites!

David Noyes Wines, producer of premier Pinot Noir, has released his limited production 2007 Tocai Friulano. A perfect summer wine, Noyes' Tocai Friulano capitalizes on strong consumer demand for unique whites, especially among Millennials.

David Noyes, an established winemaker with over 30 year's experience, crafted his Tocai Friulano in a fresh, aromatic style. Tocai Friulano is an original grape variety from Friuli, Italy. In California, it's also known as Sauvignon Vert. Due to a recent European Union agreement, the variety will be labeled simply Friulano in future vintages. This change was in response to Hungarian producer's fear of confusion between Tocai Friulano and their native sweet Tokay wines.

Tocai Friulano is an aromatic grape, full of sweet citrus and floral aromas. David Noyes' version, made from 80+ year old Pagani Vineyard vines, exhibits lush aromas on top of a crisp, mineral finish. It pairs well with mussels, seafood, and salty foods, traditionally prosciutto, or the San Danielle ham from Friuli.

"I like this style of white wine--simple yet eloquent, with flavors expressive of the grape, balanced and complete," reveals winemaker Noyes. "With both flavor and history, this wine satisfies both the sensual and intellectual appetites!" The wine retails for $20.

David Noyes' Tocai Friulano is right on trend. Sales figures for 2007 indicate a sharp growth for "alternative" varietals, including the whites Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, and Riesling. Tocai Friulano combines many of the features of these three varieties into one delicious wine. And, being relatively unknown, Tocai Friulano fits the Millennial consumer. A recent Nielsen Company study showed consumers 21-30 years old seek new tastes.
