Environmentally-Friendly Newborn Layette Also Available in New Designs

Moms' awareness of eco-friendly products continues to grow

Gerber Childrenswear, creator of the original Onesies® brand one-piece underwear, has expanded its Organic Collection to include apparel bed and bath essentials.

Gerber's new bed and bath basics include crib sheets, hooded bath towels, and wash cloths, as well as knit burp cloths and wearable sleep blankets. Made of soft, 100 percent organic cotton fibers which are grown without the use of harsh chemicals and pesticides, the additions to the Gerber Organics collection give moms an eco-friendly alternative for baby.

"Moms' awareness of eco-friendly products continues to grow," said Jeanne Dullea, vice president of business development for Gerber Childrenswear. "Gerber is proud to continue its role as one of the leaders in the childrenswear industry by offering moms a choice when it comes to baby layette essentials."

The Gerber Organic crib sheets offer the same safe, snug fit to the mattress as the regular line of crib sheets with an elastic band all the way around the edge. The organic washcloths are the perfect size to get in all those tiny, hard-to-reach spots, while the hooded towel is generously sized to keep baby warm and snuggly after bath time.

The organics collection debuted in 2006 with newborn apparel including Onesies® brand one piece underwear, sleep 'n play outfits, gowns, caps, mittens, booties, bibs, pants and blankets. With natural colors and earth-friendly animal designs, mom doesn't have to sacrifice fashion for an environmentally-friendly fabric - she gets the same quality and style she has come to expect from Gerber and the Onesies® brand by Gerber for more than 25 years.

Gerber Childrenswear LLC is a leading marketer of infant and toddler apparel and related products, which it offers under its flagship licensed brand Gerber, as well as the Onesies® brand one piece underwear. Gerber Childrenswear is headquartered in New York, N.Y. and owned by the Kellwood Corporation.
