Company offers one stop resource for understanding and managing system changes

StackSafe, Inc., a provider of pre-production staging and testing solutions for IT Operations teams, announced today the launch of its Change Impact Analysis Knowledge Center which will provide resources and best practices for organizations seeking to improve change and release management processes. StackSafe's Knowledge Center will focus on the role of pre-production testing in maturing the change management processes in organizations.

A recent study conducted by Research Edge, an independent, third-party research firm, found that when companies display a difficulty in implementing changes they often face production problems including increased staff demands, emergency changes, decreased confidence in future changes, and overall difficulty with the change management process. All of these problems contribute to a company's downtime and hinder productivity.

"IT professionals understand the critical link between change management and uptime, but most lack the tools to fully understand the impact of each change they make," said Dennis Powell, Senior Product Manager at StackSafe. "With this knowledge center, we want to provide a single stop for IT Operations teams looking to better understand how they can better participate and manage the change process within their organization."

StackSafe's Change Impact Analysis Knowledge Center was designed as a resource to enable IT operations professionals become part of a mature change process. Included on this knowledge center is a webinar featuring StackSafe and Gartner analyst Donna Scott as well as topical research, blog posts, and a change management solution guide developed by StackSafe.

"In our experience, change management and release management alone can improve your availability levels 40% or more," commented Donna Scott, VP Distinguished Analyst, Gartner. "Testing is part of the release management process. Testing operational changes with the same rigor as application changes is a best practice from an availability perspective."

StackSafe provides an answer to change impact analysis problems with its flagship IT Operations testing solution, webinar. Test Center enables IT departments to quickly create a virtualized copy of their existing software infrastructure and test patches, configurations changes, software upgrades and other changes in this safe and secure environment before going live. This directly addresses the testing needs of IT operations teams and provides a cost-effective solution for building a mature change and release management process.
