iPlayMusic has invested in a platform that all musicians, music teachers, and home video creators can now use as a tool to reach thousands of people around the world that want to play music
Mountain View, CA (PRWEB) June 24, 2008
iPlayMusic, providers of music learning and entertainment products and services, today announced a new profit-sharing program for musicians, music teachers, and home video creators interested in earning income from the comfort of their own home. Anyone with musical skills and a video camera can now upload their videos for sale on the iPlayMusic platform at iplaymusic.com/upload and reach thousands of iPlayMusic students seeking new videos on how to play songs and how to develop skills and techniques on guitar, piano, harmonica, or any one of hundreds of possible instruments.
To get started, video creators simply upload a video, a marketing image, and a description of the video, including the price of the video, to iPlayMusic. The video is then sent through iPlayMusic's approval process, which includes criteria such as appropriateness of content and video and image resolution. After approval, the video is posted for sale to the iPlayMusic Download Store, located at iplaymusic.com/download. Thousands of iPlayMusic students can then find, purchase and download the video for their personal use. In order to receive payment, video creators must submit a valid PayPal payment address. Creators receive 70% of the gross sales of every video they provide, paid monthly via PayPal.
"iPlayMusic has invested in a platform that all musicians, music teachers, and home video creators can now use as a tool to reach thousands of people around the world that want to play music," said Quincy Carroll, chief executive officer of iPlayMusic. "By creating our downloadable software platform with high quality guitar instruction and song videos, we have proven that students will use our platform, purchase and download videos, and keep coming back for more. Now we want to make this platform available to all video creators, so that they have a place to sell their high-quality content rather than offering it for free on various websites that offer some form of digital music instruction. Now with iPlayMusic, creators have an incentive to offer their great content to students who are willing and happy to purchase and own their videos."
The iPlayMusic Download Store combines technology, software features and videos to provide new and seasoned musicians with the ultimate learning and playing experience. From the music student's point of view, there are several advantages of buying a video through iPlayMusic rather than watching a free streaming video through other services on the web. Higher video quality and bigger screen size, easy navigation and search features, adjustable playback rate, and one-click export of video to iPod/iPhone devices, make the learning experience easier and more engaging. Current videos include lessons on guitar basics, strumming, tuning, chords, rhythm, riffs, and solo techniques taught in various styles, including the blues, rock, country, and folk. Popular song videos include such classics as Scarborough Fair, House of the Rising Sun, and Amazing Grace.
The software is available for both Mac and Windows, and both versions are tightly integrated with Apple's iTunes software. Each video can be easily exported to iTunes with the click of a button, and then transferred to an iPod for learning and playing anytime, anywhere. The latest Mac version of the software also includes deeper integration with GarageBand, as videos purchased in the Download Store can now be exported into GarageBand, making the process of learning and creating more streamlined.
