The first time event was initiated to provide a forum for tanning salon owners all over the country to network, exchange ideas and preview new products and sales tools. Some of the featured attractions included new tanning equipment, salon software, accessories,
event-only sales promotions, and educational seminars.

Hartl was selected as a featured speaker for the event. He spoke on the topic of "growing business in a slow economy," along with five other industry experts.
