Resume and cover letter resource site builds out template package to help job seekers effectively structure online resumes using standard chronological formatting.

We're helping people easily identify those things so they can put their best foot forward.

Land That Job! today announced an expansion to their resume templates package to help job seekers and career professionals optimize online resumes from popular job search sites. The move is to meet the increasing demands of people posting online resumes.

In February 2008, Land That Job announced that was opening up the site's flagship product, a professional resume templates and cover letters package, for free download. The recent move will see a new set of templates posted for free download. Writing guidelines accompany the templates and examples provided.

"More and more job seekers are posting their resumes and career portfolios online," explains Malcolm Chlan, managing Partner of Landjob.com. "Popular services include Monster, CareerBuilder and now Linkedin. The challenge however, is that these services use common formats for everyone to post their career portfolios and those formats are not effective for many individuals."

There are 3 common formats for resumes, namely chronological, functional (or skills based) and combination styles. The style one should use depends on their background strengths. These formats are not always available when using online forms. The result is that many professionals expose weaknesses in their background or sell themselves short.

Linkedin is the largest and fastest growing social network for professionals and thus Land That Job is paying particular attention to individuals using that service. "The profile format for Linkedin is a rather typical chronological format. It is flexible enough however, to work for most people if they know the things to look out for when building their online profile," says Chlan. "We're helping people easily identify those things so they can put their best foot forward."

The new templates can be downloaded for free at http://www.landjob.com and are also a part of the template package that consists of all the site's resume and cover letter content bundled in a convenient $9.95 download.
