One Step Retail Solutions (http://www.onestepretail.com), providers of retail point of sale software systems, has had their Founder and CEO named a Finalist for "Best Executive" conferred by the 2008 American Business Awards.

One Step Retail Solutions Founder and CEO Scott Kreisberg was named a Finalist in the Best Executive category in The 2008 American Business Awards.

The American Business Awards is the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business.

More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories. One Step Retail Solutions Founder and CEO Scott Kreisberg will be competing in the Best Executive category, along with 16 other Finalists.

Scott Kreisberg founded One Step Data, Inc., now One Step Retail Solutions, in 1985 to service the technology needs of independent retailers. Recognizing the need for a point of sale system for the small to mid-size retailer, Scott put his efforts toward not just selling hardware and software, but selling solutions for retailers.

While competitors used cut-throat pricing and spoke about lowest price offers, Scott talked about service and sold solutions. He first-handedly changed the face of retailing by shifting retailer misconceptions about using a computer in their retail business and point of sale.

His company evolved as Scott built a highly skilled sales and technical support team. It became the #1 reseller of Retail Pro point of sale software in the U.S. and has remained the #1 reseller. The company has grown steadily year after year and has helped over 3,000 stores be more efficient and profitable. This continued expansion put One Step Retail Solutions on the first-ever "Inc. 5000" list of fastest-growing private companies in America.

According to Kevin McAdam, One Step's VP Sales, "Scott has been the pulse of the company and guides its future, with the philosophy to exchange in abundance and deliver what is promised. He makes the employees feel valuable, fostering a team atmosphere and high morale."

Stevie Award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Thursday, June 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than 600 executives from across the U.S.A. are expected to attend. The ceremonies will be broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network and hosted by Liz Claman of FOX Business Network.

"ABA entries grew more than 30% this year, so being named a Finalist is more of an accomplishment than ever before," said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards. "It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of national recognition. We congratulate all of the Finalists on their achievement and wish them well in the competition."
