Abel Solutions to Deliver Custom Microsoft Office SharePoint Server Solution in Support of CARE Strategic Plan
Atlanta-based humanitarian relief organization will use SharePoint solution to meet organizational objectives for measuring worldwide impact.
Alpharetta, GA (PRWEB) June 3, 2008 -- Abel Solutions, a leading Microsoft SharePoint solution provider, announced today that CARE, the Atlanta-based humanitarian organization fighting global poverty, has selected the company to develop a custom solution supporting CARE's new organization-wide focus on performance metrics.
"One of the new organizational focuses of the 2008-2015 CARE USA Strategic Plan is around Measurement and Impact, with the goal to increase our ability to measure our impact and hold ourselves accountable not only to those who fund our work but also to the poor communities we serve," explained Raul Pino, Director of IT Strategy and Planning.
In order to meet the mandates and deadlines specified in the plan, CARE has engaged Abel Solutions to create an automated solution that will facilitate the collection of operational metrics from across the organization to help CARE measure and compare the performance of poverty-alleviation activities.
"In the past we have focused more closely on staffing and finance," stated Greg Sjogren, CARE's project manager overseeing the implementation. "The intent of the new system is to roll up those metrics with key performance indicators from the field to provide transparency and better accountability across the organization."
The finished product will collect data from across the country offices and at headquarters to provide an executive dashboard of both operational and financial data. The solution will be developed using a combination of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS 2007) - already established inside of CARE as a standard project management platform - combined with Microsoft SQL Server and some custom programming.
A pilot release covering eight countries is scheduled for August with subsequent roll-out to almost 40 country offices by the end of 2008.
