MINDBODY Inc., a company that specializes in personal service business management software, is revamping its customer service department policies.

The technical support team will now undergo an official certification program where they will receive basic tech support training and then be able to choose certain areas of expertise to specialize in. Technical support will fall under two levels, either a Level I or a Level II tech. In order to be a Level I tech, team members must be fully educated in the first three phases of training. In order to be a Level II, one must be certified for all training subjects (including advanced trainings and merchant account processing trainings).
Once a trainer or tech has become a certified Level II, they then have the option of choosing one or more areas of expertise. These include either PC or Mac operating systems; hardware such as receipt printers, barcode scanners, and credit card swipers; ACH; and merchant account processing. Once a team member has become certified in all areas of expertise, they are qualified to become a strategic account manager, or SAM.
A strategic account manager is the highest level of technical support a team member can now reach at this business management software company, and are the point of contacts for any business that chooses to participate in MINDBODY's premium support program. For a monthly fee (which varies depending on which level of support one chooses), a business is assigned one SAM as its main point of contact. The SAM serves as their technical consultant, and helps that business to get the most out of its business management software. SAMs are especially beneficial to franchises or businesses with many locations, or businesses with complex business models.
Prior to these new customer service team developments, MINDBODY's staff members were already friendly and helpful. But with these improvements, the team will be given opportunities to become experts in certain areas that interest each individual. By creating objective levels of certification rather than ranking staff members subjectively, MINDBODY will continue to improve upon its excellent customer service.
