HC Piper Manufacturing Inc. Delivered Ahead of Schedule the World's Largest Vapor Recovery Unit for Alberta Heavy Oil Project

Calgary based design and manufacturing company HC Piper Manufacturing Inc have completed building two liquid ring compressor Vapor Recovery Units, that are believed to be the largest in the world. Each unit is mounted on a skid approximately 75ft long by 24 ft wide and contains liquid ring compressors and all necessary equipment to recover hot wet vapours from the storage tanks, which will be compressed for further processing and reduce the impact on the environment.

Calgary, Alberta (PRWEB) July 2, 2008 -- Calgary based design and manufacturing company HC Piper Manufacturing Inc have completed building two liquid ring compressor Vapor Recovery Units, that are believed to be the largest in the world. Each unit is mounted on a skid approximately 75ft long by 24 ft wide and contains liquid ring compressors and all necessary equipment to recover hot wet vapours from the storage tanks, which will be compressed for further processing and reduce the impact on the environment. The skids weigh approximately 200,000 lbs each.

HC Piper Manufacturing Inc. designed and built in Calgary the units which will form an important part of the environmental requirements. The order was completed on an accelerated schedule ahead of the original contract schedule.
