Inside Small Biz recently announced several awards won by two of its Small Business Owner members.
Hall Hitzig of The Crazy Baker, Renick, West Virginia, and Lynne Breil of The Professional Edge, Inc., York, Pennsylvania, both recently received top state awards for their businesses.
"Inside Small Biz members are a stellar group of small businesses," noted Kae Wagner, president and founder of Inside Small Biz. "These Small Business Owners are innovative, driven and hard working and are the backbone of the American economy."
The national organization, Inside Small Biz, has members who are Small Business Owners. In the membership program they receive training and consultation in business best practices, sales and marketing skills, program and product development input, as well as 1:1 and peer consultation. A customized promotional program is also included in the membership.
Inside Small Biz member, The Crazy Baker in Renick, West Virginia, was selected as one of "West Virginia's 55 Good Things." This award is given by the State Journal and is a "wonderful round-up of positive people, organizations and initiatives" in West Virginia. The State Journal has been awarding the "55 Good Things" for 23 years.
"This award is very meaningful to us," noted Hall Hitzig, aka The Crazy Baker. "We're proud to be one of West Virginia's 55 Good Things because it's been good business for us to be here in West Virginia." The Crazy Baker started his business in West Virginia after relocating from New York and leaving a career in aviation. Hall, and his wife Amy, are active supporters of West Virginia's small businesses and are active in the Slow Food movement.
Another Inside Small Biz member, Lynne Breil, president of The Professional Edge, Inc. in York, PA, was recently honored as an awardee by Governor Rendell and five PA business journals in the 11th annual "Best 50 Women in Business" in the state of PA.
"These women, and many others, are making outstanding contributions to the economic growth and vitality of Pennsylvania," Governor Rendell said. "Our women business owners are taking advantage of the opportunities presented to them, and are creating opportunities for many others."
