Edinburg, TX (PRWEB) July 3, 2008 -- The U.S. Border Patrol, in partnership with RecruitMilitary, LLC, will present a free career fair and open house for job seekers who have military backgrounds in Edinburg, Texas, on Saturday, July 19. The event will take place from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Border Patrol's Rio Grande Valley Sector Headquarters. Edinburg is the county seat of Hidalgo County, which borders the Rio Grande; Edinburg is about 60 miles from the Gulf of Mexico.

Admission to the career fair and open house will be limited to military and veteran personnel, and the Border Patrol will be the only employer present. The Border Patrol will interview job seekers for positions as Border Patrol Agents. To qualify to work as a Border Patrol Agent, an applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a U.S. resident for the past three years, between the ages of 19 and 39, and able to pass a background investigation.

The Border Patrol and RecruitMilitary urge all job seekers who have military backgrounds to attend--veterans who already have civilian work experience, men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, and members of the National Guard and reserves.

RecruitMilitary produces the largest number of military-to-civilian career fairs in the United States. The company has scheduled 104 events in 44 cities for 2008. RecruitMilitary also offers subscriptions to its database of self-registered job seekers who have military backgrounds, currently numbering more than 218,000, at its Web site, www.recruitmilitary.com, advertising in online and print media, and retained hiring services. The company mails more than 50,000 copies of a quarterly, print newsletter called Incoming! to over 230 military bases throughout the world for distribution to transitioning personnel; employers advertise their job openings in Incoming!

All of RecruitMilitary's account executives and retained search consultants are either veterans or active or former reservists. The President of RecruitMilitary is Drew Myers, formerly a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. The company was founded in 1998.
