Leading RFID-enabled asset management solution provider Fluensee today announced the availability of a new research report entitled "RFID and IT Infrastructures: Maximizing Business Value" published by Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks Company (NYSE:HHS). Key findings indicate that nearly two-thirds of best-in-class organizations are leveraging RFID to improve the performance of their IT infrastructures, provide better customer service and reduce unplanned downtime.

Sponsored in part by Fluensee, the report indicates that the range of areas in which RFID is being used is expanding beyond traditional 'slap and ship' and 'track and trace' applications, as demonstrated by the variety of assets to which companies are attaching or planning to attach RFID tags. For example, more survey respondents (43%) are tagging or planning to tag IT assets than manufacturing work in process (35%) or inventory (30%), two of the most traditionally popular RFID applications.

And best-in-class survey respondents enjoyed an average 6.9% year-over-year reduction in 'time to information' for business intelligence, underscoring the ability of RFID-IT infrastructure management integration to deliver meaningful business benefits."
