The American College, the nation's leading financial services educator, announced today the appointment of Robert McLoughlin, CLU®, as Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff. As a 30-year New York Life Insurance Company employee, McLoughlin brings significant financial services experience to his new role at The College.

"His new focus will help implement our strategic plan, and further expand and promote industry leading, educational excellence."

As a member of the senior management team, I hope to expand the boundaries of distance learning in a way that will promote the success of industry professionals," McLoughlin said.
As Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff, McLoughlin will focus on:
•Identifying, developing, implementing and managing new revenue-producing initiatives;
•Serving as the primary liaison to the Board of Trustees to ensure that strategic plan objectives realize their full potential;
•Promoting educational excellence and institutional growth.
In addition, McLoughlin will be working to promote The College's new AcrossAmerica program, which provides students with live, flexible, and local classroom experiences with industry-tested instructors. Learners that prefer a classroom environment and peer interaction, will now be able to choose from instructor-led classes in most major metropolitan areas. Prior to coming to The American College, McLoughlin worked at the New York Life Insurance Company for over 30 years, where he held various positions in Sales, Marketing, Information Services, Agent Development, Selling Systems, Sales Promotion, Communications and Industry Relations. Most recently, he worked with former New York Life President, Fred Sievert, in Industry Relations. During that time, Robert was fortunate enough to come in contact with prestigious industry organizations such as; The American College, Life Insurance Market Research Association (LIMRA), Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP), Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), General Agents and Managers Association (GAMA) International, and others.
McLoughlin is a graduate of the State University of New York. He earned the prestigious Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation from The American College. McLoughlin is an active member of several professional associations, such as GAMA, LIMRA, and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). McLoughlin resides in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., is married, and has three children.
