Singapore (PRWEB) July 9, 2008
Asia's leading information technology management magazine MIS (Managing Information Strategies) Asia (http://www.misweb.com) has a new Deputy Editor; experienced technology journalist Carol Ko, based in Hong Kong.
MIS Asia is published by Fairfax Business Media (FBM) and circulated to 10,490 (31 December 2007) CIOs and senior IT management in Asia's large to medium-sized enterprises, encouraging business-guided IT strategy by offering case studies and best practices. In July 2007, MIS Asia won the Best Business Technology Title award for the second year, at the MediaConnect Asia Technology Journalist Awards 2007.
MIS Asia Editor, Ross O. Storey, who is also FBM's Managing Editor, said that Mandarin-speaking Ko's appointment was part of a strategy to expand the respected magazine's north Asia coverage.
"Our regular readers will have noticed we have been covering more stories out of mainland China, Taiwan and Korea," Storey said. "Part of Carol's brief is to continue this expansion, and to build the already considerable MIS Asia community of Chief Information Officers and senior IT managers."
This expansion was reflected by the increase in MIS Asia's Hong Kong circulation from 20 per cent to 28.1 per cent, of its entire circulation base, in January 2008.
"Among many other things, Carol will also be responsible for our major annual editions, the MIS 100 - which highlights and indexes Asia's top 100 IT users, and the Strategic 100 - which lists the region's leading IT vendors."
Ko would also be managing the prestigious MIS Asia IT Excellence Awards - run in conjunction with the MIS100. The Award winners will be announced at the magazine's flagship annual event The MIS IT Excellence Awards and Summit - http://www.mis-asia.com/ITExcel08/ - in Singapore, on Friday, August 1, 2008. These prestigious Awards have been presented annually since 2003 to Asia's best performing enterprises and organisations, based on their excellence in management and attainment of business goals.
"Carol Ko's appointment to this senior position means we now have our biggest complement of editorial staff, mostly based in Singapore, but also in offices in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong," Storey said.
