If a player pitches 61 or more pitches in a day, according to the ASMI study, three calendar days of rest should be observed. If a player pitches 41 to 60 pitches in a day they should have two days of rest if they pitch 21 to 40 pitches in a day they should have one day of rest, and if they pitch one to 20 pitches in a day they should not need any rest.
